For all the gamers out there, here’s a special treat which I’m definitely sure you’re already anticipating. Coming this December 12, 2009, Video Game Awards 2009 will be rolling with new set of nominees plus new awards—extra plus: new games that will be previewed for the first time.
Background check: The Video Game Awards was first shown in television around 2003. For every year the best game from PC to Wii is being awarded—winners chosen through voting of fans via the internet. This is said to be the first biggest Video Gamers’ event around the world. During its first take, together with another video game awards—G-Phoria—which was from G4, many have criticized and question it. However it’s release, and also because of its new sound to the society, it became a hit.
For every year new awards were given depending on the need to give it. There were separate titles for every gaming medium: from PC, to Wii, to Online. They even search for people who dubbed character’s voices and are given the recognition they so truly deserve. This also goes the same for games who have made it into the big screens.
Last year, Spike VGA 2008, first gave a new feature to their awards night by becoming the means to give previews to the new games before they hit the market. This year’s VGA comes with two new games: Halo: Reach was first announced during June 8, 2009, at the Microsoft E3 2009 press conference; UFC 2010 Undisputed is an upcoming mixed martial arts video game which includes UFC fighters and properties.
This is going to be another massive event that may find a person, especially if they are gamers, in a real thrill. The VGA 2009 will be held at Los Angeles and Spike will broadcast it with no massive delay. This is one GAME ON!
