The Asian thing and the Western Fling

Manga has hit even drama series however it’s not the only Asian thing that was found appealing by the west.

Horror films have always found their way in a person’s mind and nerve. It starts off with Sadako the girl from the well or let say the scary woman with hair covering her face as she is in the film The Ring. The Grudge trilogy became hit after hit in the US as well as the kid and the mom and the cat (yes, the cat) gets out of the house and moves to the west in an apartment building. And speaking of Apartments, there’s also another Asian horror flick that made its way in the Hollywood screens—Sigaw (The Echo). The Echo sets in an old building apartment where they hear cries from the battered wife of a cop; only a background check on this scene would know the that they are in fact dead. The scene kept repeating until someone would interfere and help the mother and daughter from the harsh husband.

Besides the Asian Horror shows, a definite influence Asian hit among the Westerns are their soap operas. Check out films that were developed to follow the stories originating from Korea. The hit movie The Lake House was actually taken from the Korean movie, Il Mare which was filmed year 2000. Another funny romantic movie from Korea also came to a western remake—My Sassy Girl; a story which follows Charlie and a beautiful girl he met at the train station who happened to be drunk that time. Movie records search will show how the two version show exact scenes that the fun and romance was perfect.

If we try to background check companies that produce movies it’s pretty obvious that results will definitely show how the Asian culture is presently influencing their story and action cuts across the globe. Their stories are romantic with that dash of innocence and pure at heart. When it comes to their horror, their effectiveness in their part can be told through the mystery as to how it all happened; the richness of the culture made gave them this advantage, I think. But all in all there’s no denying they did give a more colorful notion to the movies we enjoyed even in the West.
