Resident Evil 4: Afterlife—coming soon

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in , , , ,

You’re definitely missing out half of your life if you haven’t seen this film. If you’re the type of person who’s into horror flicks plus the action—plus the chick in action—then Resident Evil is the movie for you. Next year we’ll get to see the 4th installment of this very thrilling and pow wow pack movie which stars Mila Jovovich as the zombie killer Alice in resident Evil 4: Afterlife.
In this fourth movie, Alice still continues to roam around as she search for people not yet infected by the T-virus. She did find a group in Los Angeles who had been in hiding since the T-virus outbreak. She helps them break out other survivors who were in a jail; among the group of imprisoned survivors is Claire’s brother, Chris Redfield.

The film was said to have started filming last September 29, 2009. Records search reveals the first Location was in Toronto Canada which was said to place itself as Alaska, the place where Alice told Claire (from the convoy) as a safe haven from the undead. The movie is said to have settings in Alaska and Japan (which everybody is waiting for). In the third Installment, Resident Evil: Extinction, we saw a background check company where the leader to the Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesler in an underground hideout in Hong Kong while Claire and the rest of the survivors got in an Umbrella Helicopter to fly to Alaska where Alice believe to be a safe ground for them.

The movie was written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. It also stars Boris Kodjoe, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Spencer Locke, Kim Coates, and Shawn Roberts. Background check on the cast reveals Miller will be staring as Chris Redfield, one of the well known characters in the RE game series while Larter will reprise her role as Claire Redfield (Chris’ sister and head of the convoy of survivors). This is sure to be more power packed than the last series plus Alice’s clones will join (more kicks for the zombie butts!). This will definitely set theaters in rocking moment this August 27, 2010.

Last Week’s Must See Movie—Still a Must See This Week: The Princess and The Frog

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in ,

Find a person who does not know this story. This is that story we all love with a twist. Honestly the first time I saw the trailer made me laugh and go down back memory lane. From Walt Disney comes a new rendition to the tale of a princess and a frog; in this one however the princess is a waitress named Tiana who kissed a desperate frog prince who just wants to be human again. The kiss gave the result anyone who had read or heard the original never expected—Tiana was turned into a frog instead.

It was set in time of the jazzy 1920s New Orleans, Louisiana; by the mystical bayous where the Tiana and the frog prince met. Background check on the characters reveals that Tiana was actually a waitress while Prince Naveen was an arrogant and carefree prince who was transformed into a frog by a voodoo magician. When Tiana kissed him (in his frog form both believing that it will break the spell) she was turned into a frog thus starting their journey to be turned back to humans.

Records search shows that this is Disney’s comeback to the hand drawn films we all love. The makers of Disney’s the Little Mermaid and Aladdin—the team has returned to make this a possibility. It’s a jazzy remake that receives good reviews and continues to raise itself in the movie charts. And why wouldn’t it be a big success? With award winning crew and a cast that rocks nothing can go wrong. And speaking of cast they have Anika Noni Rose, the third person of the Dreamgirls; plus there’s Oprah for her mother although she is named Eudora.

It’s a feel good film that gives us a rest from the digitalized versions we’ve been seeing lately. It’s definitely something worth seeing.

James Cameron’s AVATAR: Showing December 18

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in , , ,

It’s James Cameron’s Avatar this coming December 18 and for those chosen few that had viewed this film, which was estimated to have been budgeted around $300 to $500 Million, was shown. So what does critics say about the most awaited Scifi film of the year (plus the fact that it’s Cameron’s film after Titanic)? It’s time for the “say” of those who had had the privilege of seeing the movie that kept people buzzing (next to New Moon that is).
Titanic was a film from James Cameron that everybody thought would b e a flop. However, public records search shows that it earned Billions worldwide and made blockbuster history. It was one of the best films I personally had ever seen and surely many could agree to this. Now, after twelve years of not directing (except for documentaries and concentrating on developing the 3-D fusion camera system which he used in this new film) he does movies again for a major production in AVATAR.
The story revolves around Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a US marine who is paralyzed from waist down. He was recruited for the avatar project in the planet of Pandora; mission to do a background check on the planet’s natives called the Na’vi. This was for the humans to have a diplomatic solution to moving the said natives to another location since the place where they are presently based is where important minerals are kept. But with the native’s place being sacred, they refused to such request thus a war broke leaving Sully in a dilemma.
With regards to the visuals, the planet’s atmosphere even the futuristic outlook seemed so realistic bravo to the computer generated technology used. The actors were chosen very well that even their voices fit well with the feel it needs to invoke. However the lowest quality, as said by the critique, is the story itself which didn’t quite meet the expectation like that of Titanic and Terminator 2 (also a film by James Cameron), that did find a person more awestruck especially with the flood of emotions in a particular scene (they made people cry). It is good news however that this film is still highly recommended must-see for the whole family coming this December 18.

BEN 10: ALIEN SWARM Out In Blue Ray

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in , , ,

For a girl my age (take note of the girl word and my age is way beyond 20), I still enjoy Ben 10 since he was a kid to becoming a teen (and I like it especially when he became a teen). The story of Ben Tennyson, Gwen, Kevin and Grandpa Max continues as they are brought to life in Ben 10: Alien Swarm.
It’s a whole new adventure with the Plumbers, the secret organization that watch over alien activities (with all their locators much better than all the phone number reverse stuff). Bringing it to life actually started with the heroes being kids in Ben 10: Race Against time. This time around, in Ben 10: Alien Swarm, Ben and the rest of the gang are teens who deal with solving the mystery behind a swarm of aliens infecting the human populace—placing them under their control.

The film starts with the green Challenger racing to meet illegal Alien technology dealers who happened to be just a set up by Elena Validus. Character background check: Elena was a childhood acquaintance of Ben and a daughter of a former Plumber who was removed due to taking with him alien technology without authority. In this event they were dealt by a swarm of alien bees commanded by an unknown person.

After temporarily defeating the alien bees, Ben and the rest of the gang learned of Elena’s troubles (her dad had mysteriously disappeared). In addition to this was information of an alien threat as what her father once warned the Plumbers. Even with the rest of the team, especially his grandfather, distrusting Elena’s story, Ben still pushed through to help her go for an instant people search in pursuit of her lost father until the whole story was proved to be correct….

Last December 1, Ben 10: Alien Swarm was released in Blue Ray. Filling in the shoes of our heroes are Ryan Kelley, Nathan Keyes and Alyssa Diaz; Directed by Alex winter, this Nick-treat is a good gift to kids, especially during the holiday season.

Blind Side Gains Top Position with $20.4M after New Moon’s $15.7M over the weekend

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in , ,

After her blockbuster hit, The Proposal, background check on Sandra Bullock’s latest film The Blind Side has taken the movie world with surprise…and I do mean a BIG SURPRISE.
I wrote on this blog recently at how Twilight Saga: New Moon skyrocketed in the blockbuster at its first filming (earning the rights to third place on the blockbuster hit list). Records search from last December 8’s movie update shows how New Moon was “Eclipsed” by Blind Side,  a drama inspired by the life of NFL star Michael Oher, as it advanced with $20.4 Million over the weekend.
The Blind Side was said to be this year’s movie underdog considering that it only went to the runner up position, coming next to New Moon, for two consecutive weeks. However on its third week, the movie went high as it totals $20.4 Million over the weekend compared to New Moon’s $15.7 Million. This is really a great surprise.

The Blind Side is a story about NFL Star Michael Oher, who was adopted by Sandra Bullock’s character. With the said heartwarming sports inspired film, there have been questions in the past as to why a football movie was to be launched in the big screens early on. However, with this great move, although public records search can’t deny that there is still this big difference with regards to its total gross compared to New Moon’s (the vampire flick really hit $255.6 Million domestically compared to the football-inspired drama’s $129.3 Million), there is no denying that this achievement is all thanks to the movie goers who have seen and did their part in advertising through their personal reviews of the film—recommending the film…
The vampire fever may still be on however real drama, formed by a great cast not to mention a good layout of the story, is something worth taking a chance seeing. At present, the inspiration to the film, Oher, is a rookie at the Baltimore Ravens—the grandest fruit of his labor. This is really one movie not to miss as it will find a person encouraged to fight back against life’s hardships.

The Asian thing and the Western Fling

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in ,

Manga has hit even drama series however it’s not the only Asian thing that was found appealing by the west.

Horror films have always found their way in a person’s mind and nerve. It starts off with Sadako the girl from the well or let say the scary woman with hair covering her face as she is in the film The Ring. The Grudge trilogy became hit after hit in the US as well as the kid and the mom and the cat (yes, the cat) gets out of the house and moves to the west in an apartment building. And speaking of Apartments, there’s also another Asian horror flick that made its way in the Hollywood screens—Sigaw (The Echo). The Echo sets in an old building apartment where they hear cries from the battered wife of a cop; only a background check on this scene would know the that they are in fact dead. The scene kept repeating until someone would interfere and help the mother and daughter from the harsh husband.

Besides the Asian Horror shows, a definite influence Asian hit among the Westerns are their soap operas. Check out films that were developed to follow the stories originating from Korea. The hit movie The Lake House was actually taken from the Korean movie, Il Mare which was filmed year 2000. Another funny romantic movie from Korea also came to a western remake—My Sassy Girl; a story which follows Charlie and a beautiful girl he met at the train station who happened to be drunk that time. Movie records search will show how the two version show exact scenes that the fun and romance was perfect.

If we try to background check companies that produce movies it’s pretty obvious that results will definitely show how the Asian culture is presently influencing their story and action cuts across the globe. Their stories are romantic with that dash of innocence and pure at heart. When it comes to their horror, their effectiveness in their part can be told through the mystery as to how it all happened; the richness of the culture made gave them this advantage, I think. But all in all there’s no denying they did give a more colorful notion to the movies we enjoyed even in the West.

Rain-ing at theaters: Ninja Assassin Now Showing

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in , ,

It’s an ass kicking flick that for the rest of the 99 minutes it’s being played all you’ll see are kicks, slashes and red—blood splattering everywhere in the movie. It’s Rain-ing gruesome and cool-some in this action pact flick Ninja Assassin.
Taken from the streets as a child Raizo, played by pop Korean sensation Rain (Speed Racer), was raised and trained to be its top assassin by the Ozunu clan who’s existence are even said to be a myth. However as Raizo grew up and saw his only friend being killed by the clan which he calls family, he runs away with the promise of vengeance.
In Europe, Europol agent, Mika Coretti, found out link in the murders she’s investigating. Going through records search other confidential files she connects her findings to a secret organization from the Far East. To silence her forever, The Ozunu clan hunts her down but was saved by Raizo. The story moves on with Raizo and Mika helping each other out in order to survive.

Rain is a total star with this one. Seeing Korean novellas where he starred on especially his music public records search shows Rain to be surpassing every talent. From his appearance in Speed Racer which somehow became a sign that there’s that Hollywood promise shining through (like how Zang Zi Yi shined on From Crouching tiger Hidden Dragon to Memoirs of a Geisha). This role will surely optimize Rain in his acting career.

Speaking of Asians reigning in the Hollywood screens, there have been some which are presently note worthy so to speak. Jet Lee is one; there’s also Michelle Kwan who definitely starred in a lot of Hollywood film (including Memoirs of Geisha with Zang Zi Yi). At present, with the trailer of The Last Airbender being shown in television screens, Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire has transcended indeed. With all things said, Rain is definitely at his peak in stardom and has every chance of going farther.
Whenever in an instant people search for the action pact bloody film especially those who had delved into the Asian flavor (and I don’t mean just the goodies) this is definitely the film to watch. And with the director of V for Vendetta, James McTeigue, expect only the best.

Anime on the entertainment list: getting in to them is no surprise

Posted by: Gwen Stewart in ,

It was no surprise when I saw the top ten manga / anime listed by the New York Times. Firstly the number one is very timely to the vampire craze since the Twilight series hit bestseller and blockbuster and of course since most of today’s teens are considered emos. Spare me the drama but indeed this is a given fact. However as much as most teens are more into the gothic side of town, there is also this undeniable truth that, though this doesn’t seem as logical nor manifesting to the adult peeps, today’s animes are very mind boggling that anyone would get hooked by it.
Some of the top ten animes listed are part of that inner child-slash-adult that still enjoy the fun in these shows yet have a spark for thinking. Records search shows these type of entertainment seem to have gotten out of the usual super hero gist to something with a backbone—a story….

Death Note: a mythically based story that centers on a Light, a high school kid who got his hands on a black notebook that kills any person by just a write of his name. This has been one of my favorites since I saw a DVD copy of its episodes. Honestly the plot itself is addicting from a truly bright and honest kid turned to a murderous person—sinister to be exact: He search for people with the most gruesome criminal records and sentence them to death by just writing their names.

Naruto: a story about a boy having the nine-tailed fox imprisoned in him. Let’s admit ninja sequences are a total excite for every anime fan. In this instance however, the story is another thing. There is even an issue with the Hokages and I’m sure most of you who have seen this show already have a hint especially with Naruto’s parentage. It’s just a fun action series that gets any kid of all ages hooked up.

Ouran High School Host Club: one of my favorite animes up to date. It’s sort of a Hana Kimi thing yet the boys here knew while the girls of the school—the jokes on them. Set in an exclusively rich school, a girl got herself a scholarship and gets involved with the boys of Ouran Club. She changed their lives; they made her feel special. The thing is this is one great anime if you’re really up for laughs and “guess what?” sequence.
There are surprisingly great animes nowadays turning into real life drama series that has even captivated our attention. One is the many revivals (from different countries) of Hana Yori Dango (Boys over flowers). Let’s admit that doing a background check company will surely show that this type of entertainment has drawn a lot of attention since they have gone with something more tangible even for adults.
