Chicago Bulls let Jarrett Jack to ties his shoes during game play

It was exclusive a some days ago that we were questioning the effort level of the Toronto Raptors, and wondering if it strength be time for the team's head coach to start worrying about his job security. But after the Raptors went into Chicago and crushed the Bulls on Saturday, it seems that, at least for the moment, they've left their troubles behind.

The same can't be said, however, for the team Toronto played against.

I ingest the catchword \"played against\" very loosely here, because the Bulls barely played this one at all. Toronto jumped on them from the very start, and ran out to a 37-16 prototypal quarter lead, on the way to a 110-78 final score.

(And no, the game wasn't modify that close, but thanks for asking.)

There are going to be nights when one team has it and the other team doesn't; blowouts happen to everyone once in a while, modify the league's elite. But the Bulls have now lost seven of their last eight games (apologies, Pistons), and have done so by an average of almost 18 points each.

Chicago wasn't supposed to be this bad, and when teams intend consistently blasted like this, at some point it comes down to effort, which -- at least in part -- falls on the shoulders of the head coach. And this play from Saturday night's debacle shows that there is something seriously lacking with the Bulls' desire to compete.

Here we have Jarrett Jack of the Raptors, receiving a pass out beyond the top of the circle. He notices his shoe is untied. But instead of calling timeout or expiration to a teammate while he takes care of the situation, Jack calmly holds the ball, and leans down to tie his shoe -- DURING LIVE GAME ACTION! -- and all the Bulls do is stand there and watch.

You can hear how incredulous the Toronto announcers are, because this was, quite honestly, completely ridiculous. Yes, it was a 27-point game as the third quarter clock was winding down, and sure, there's something to be said for good sportsmanship. But if you're the Bulls, you simply can't allow this to happen.

Just as we questioned whether or not Jay Triano would remain employed as the head coach of the Raptors a some days ago, you can't help but astonishment the same thing about Vinnie Del Negro when you see plays like this.
